The EBU Board was represented by Fred Delforge this year in Moita, on the outskirts of Lisbon, for the 13th edition of the BB Blues Fest. Fred was thus able to share two evenings full of conviviality and good music in a superb venue with his Portuguese hosts. On the program was Kiko & The Blues Refugees, who reach 3rd place at the EBC 2024 in Braga. Present in the audience, Mingo Balaguer from Spain, who also was 3rd at the EBC in Malmö in 2023, was invited to play a piece at the end of the concert with the Portuguese band.
The rest of the lineup was more international with Brazilian harmonica player Flavio Guimaraes, American bluesman Vasti Jackson and superb Canadian singer Shakura S’Aida in a duet with guitarist Paige Armstrong.
And finally, on Sunday lunchtime, it was in a city park that everyone gathered for a musical picnic hosted by local groups but also by the Travellin Brothers, winners of the EBC 2015 in Brussels. Another great event highlighting European blues and good humor !
