Croatian Youth Band
The 39th International Blues Challenge was much more a challenge for everyone then ever before, especially for the Croatian 18 peace Youth band team coming from Poprock School.
Bad weather with lot of snow and frozen blizzards made 70 percent of flights cancelled.
They spent three days of the trip from Zagreb to Memphis, from first cancelled flight, at Monday morning, from Amsterdam to Atlanta when they were seated four hours in plane with icy wings and then spent one night in Amsterdam.

Challenge for Challenge

They had to split in two groups and the second one spent another night at Atlanta airport and after few more cancellations they came to USA and Memphis with late flight at Wednesday.
The guitars arrived to Memphis at Thursday and that day they had to evacuate from the hotel to another one because of flood premeditated by broken water pipes.
So many temptations. After all that troubles their 11 peace Croatian Youth Band did a passionate performance at Youth Showcase at Friday afternoon at Club 152.

They unfortunately missed the International Showcase at Tuesday, but they had the opportunity to do some jam sessions, workshops, and to meet other youth bends.
Except Croatian Youth Band (the only non American youth band at IBC) there were also a Croatian duo Charlie and Bell Blues Experience, and Boris “Hrepa” Hrepic was a judge on Wednesday and Thursday.

Not even these extreme bad weather conditions could stop the energy of this great group.
Croatia sent again a clear massage that blues in Croatia stays strong. Keep the blues alive.
