Bringing the blues back to younger generations through education, music and international collaboration
The European Blues Union (EBU) has launched a new phase of its Blues For Youth project by establishing strategic collaborations with three internationally recognized initiatives dedicated to blues education, youth music development, and Blues Schools.
These new partnerships strengthen the project’s mission of creating a sustainable educational network that connects schools, music educators, professional musicians, festivals, and young talents across Europe and beyond.
What is Blues For Youth?
Blues For Youth is an international initiative promoted by the European Blues Union with the objective of introducing new generations to the history, culture, and artistic value of the blues.
The project encourages children, teenagers, and young musicians to discover blues music through educational activities, workshops, live performances, masterclasses, and collaborations with experienced artists and music professionals.
By integrating blues into educational environments and extracurricular music programs, the initiative helps preserve an important musical heritage while inspiring creativity, cultural awareness, and artistic expression among young people.
International cooperation for blues education
The collaboration with three leading international projects represents an important milestone for the European Blues Union. By sharing educational resources, teaching methods, and best practices, the partners aim to create new opportunities for students, teachers, and emerging musicians.
This international network will support:
- music education programs focused on the blues;
- school projects and Blues Schools;
- workshops and educational events;
- exchanges between young musicians from different countries;
- collaboration between educators, festivals, and cultural organizations;
- the promotion of blues as a living musical tradition for future generations.
Inspiring the next generation of blues musicians
The core mission of Blues For Youth is to make blues music accessible, engaging, and relevant for today’s young audiences.
From primary schools to music academies and emerging professional artists, the project provides opportunities for learning, performing, and connecting with the international blues community.
Through education, cultural exchange, and international cooperation, the European Blues Union aims to ensure that the blues continues to inspire future generations while preserving its historical roots and cultural significance.
Join the Blues For Youth community
Schools, music teachers, festivals, cultural organizations, and young musicians interested in participating in the Blues For Youth initiative are invited to connect with the European Blues Union and become part of a growing international network dedicated to promoting blues education and supporting the next generation of blues artists.
