Applications Open for the 2nd ABAS Blues Festival & Challenge 2026 in Greece

The Aegean Blues Appreciation Society (ABAS) has officially opened applications for the 2nd ABAS Blues Festival & Challenge, taking place from 10–13 July 2026 on the beautiful Greek island of Nisyros.

Blues, Blues Rock, Roots, Soul, Funk, Acoustic, Contemporary Blues, and other blues-inspired artists and bands are invited to submit their Expression of Interest to perform at this growing international event, which combines live performances, workshops, cultural exchange activities, and the official ABAS Blues Challenge.

Selected artists will have the opportunity to compete for the chance to represent Greece at the European Blues Challenge 2027 in Portugal and the International Blues Challenge 2027 in Memphis, USA. Additional prizes include a professional recording session at Music Art Lab Athens, as well as valuable networking and performance opportunities within the European blues community.

Set against the unique backdrop of the volcanic island of Nisyros, the festival continues ABAS’s mission of strengthening the blues scene in Greece and creating new connections between artists, festivals, and audiences across Europe.
