For 20 years, Blues Heaven Festival has brought the very best of blues and soul to Frederikshavn — creating a unique meeting place where artists, audiences and music lovers from across Europe and beyond come together.
Born out of a deep love for music and carried forward by generations of devoted audiences and artists, the festival’s story reaches back almost four decades, to the Djurs Bluesland Festival in 1988.
In 2026, we celebrate 20 years of blues in Frederikshavn with an exceptional international line-up: 13 international bands and one Danish band, featuring 75 musicians from nine different countries.
Two unforgettable days filled with powerful live performances, soulful moments and the unmistakable atmosphere that makes Blues Heaven something truly special.
Sugaray Rayford Joins Blues Heaven as New Headliner
The only Scandinavian show with his American band
Get ready for a Friday night full of soul, gospel and swinging blues!
Following the cancellation of Kenny Neal’s performance due to illness, we are delighted to welcome Sugaray Rayford as the new Friday night headliner on October 2.
A towering presence on stage and a powerhouse of soul, gospel and blues, Sugaray Rayford brings an extraordinary energy to every performance. And this time, he returns to Blues Heaven with his American band, including the horn section formerly featured with Amy Winehouse’s band.
Sugaray is no stranger to Blues Heaven. He first performed at the festival in 2017, returned as a headliner in 2022, and will now make his third appearance in Frederikshavn.
Three visits, one unforgettable connection — and another night of world-class blues waiting to happen.
We are sorry that Kenny Neal has had to cancel due to illness and send him our very best wishes for a speedy recovery. We hope to welcome Kenny and his band back to Frederikshavn in the future.
