Thanks to the collaboration with Åmåls Blues Association, we are very proud to announce that the European Blues Union will reserve 2 scholar ship in Åmåls School of Blues that will be held in Åmål, Sweden July 7-10 2024.

For whom: Youth aged 15-20’s, for international participants age 18-20´s and a certain amount of prior knowledge is a prerequisite to be able to assimilate the course.  If you play an instrument, it´s great if you can bring your own, if you play drums or keyboards, you do not need to bring your own instruments. Amplifiers are available on site.

The application must be submitted by March 30, 2024 at the latest. You will be contacted by one of our teachers for a short interview after your application. The participation fee of 100 Euro, includes three breakfasts, three lunches and three dinners as well as accommodation in a dormitory. To the accommodation the participants need to bring an air mattress, pillow and sleeping bag and, of course, other personal equipment. European Blues union will cover half the course fee and provide 100 euros in travel expenses for the selected international participants. During the days, in addition to playing music, there will also be visits from professional blues musicians. The school has been visited by Lil’ Jimmie Reed (US), Sofie Reed, Dan Magnusson (The drummer of Seasick Steve) as well as Austin Walkin’ Cane (US).

 

School of Blues ends on Wednesday July 10 th but in addition to participation in the School of Blues, each participant also receives a personal pass to Åmåls Bluesfest 2024 with access to the backstage area and the opportunity to play at the official jam on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, there are no opportunities for Åmål Blues Association to provide accommodation after the course ends on Wednesday but Åmåls Blues Association will try to help the international participants who like to stay to find accommodation if possible.
