Lucerne Blues Festival 2026

Lucerne Blues Festival 2026: Young Talent and Blues Legends Share the Stage

The Lucerne Blues Festival 2026 will once again bring together young rising artists, established stars and legendary Blues musicians in the heart of Switzerland. The 31st edition of the festival will feature 12 bands performing at the Grand Casino Lucerne, alongside free opening concerts, Blues Brunches, educational events and other special performances.

The festival officially opens on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne and runs through Sunday, November 15.

Lucerne Blues Festival 2026: Discovering the Future of Blues

Every year, Blues fans from across Europe eagerly await the announcement of the Lucerne Blues Festival lineup. The festival has built a reputation not only for presenting internationally established artists, but also for introducing exciting new talent to a discerning European audience.

The 31st edition continues that tradition. Festival President Martin “Kari” Bruendler confirms that the 2026 program is complete and promises another edition filled with musical discoveries.

“Once again, we can fully meet the expectations of our visitors. We are presenting several top musicians who are still relatively unknown here, but who are sure to inspire enthusiasm and leave a lasting impression. These are talents that demonstrate the vibrant future of the Blues.”

Among the artists highlighted by Bruendler are several performers who offer a fresh perspective on the contemporary Blues and Soul scene.

Young Harrell “Young Rell” Davenport, who has already given Lucerne audiences a glimpse of his talent as a guest performer in a revue, will be one of the artists to watch at the 2026 festival.

Another remarkable discovery is 84-year-old Soul singer Sonny Green. Despite a long career and countless acclaimed performances in the United States, Green remained largely under the radar of the music industry until recently.

The festival will also introduce audiences to The Silent Partners, a group of extraordinary musicians who spent years working behind the scenes alongside major stars including B.B. King and Denise LaSalle. In Lucerne, they will finally step into the spotlight themselves.

Many festivalgoers may also be seeing Les Greene perform live for the first time. Greene gained particular attention for his portrayal of Little Richard in the 2020 film I Got Nothin’ to Lose, and his live appearance promises to be another highlight of the 2026 program.

Blues Stars Return to Lucerne

The Lucerne Blues Festival 2026 lineup also includes established artists who have already created memorable musical moments in Lucerne.

Leading the returning names are Janiva Magness and Johnny Sansone, both familiar to audiences who have followed the festival over the years. Roomful of Blues and Eugene “Hideaway” Bridges will also return, offering European Blues fans the chance to experience some of the genre’s best-known performers live.

The program also celebrates artists who have recently received major recognition for their talent.

Norwegian artist Adama Janlo, winner of the European Blues Contest, will perform at the festival, as will Swiss Blues Award winner Justina Lee Brown.

The combination of internationally established names, award-winning artists and emerging talent remains one of the defining characteristics of the Lucerne Blues Festival.
