European Blues Hall of Fame 2026 Announces New Inductees: Eric Bibb, Helge Tallqvist and Mike Vernon Honored

European Blues Union celebrates outstanding contributions to the growth of blues music across Europe

The European Blues Union (EBU) has officially announced the 2026 inductees into the European Blues Hall of Fame (EBHoF), recognizing three remarkable figures whose work has made a lasting impact on the development and promotion of blues music throughout Europe.

Now in its third consecutive year, the European Blues Hall of Fame was established to celebrate individuals and organizations that have played a pivotal role in shaping the European blues landscape. The initiative honors artists and industry professionals whose dedication has helped preserve the heritage of blues music while inspiring new generations of musicians and fans across the continent.

The EBU created the Hall of Fame to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of people—past and present—whose contributions have strengthened the influence and visibility of blues music in Europe. Beyond recognizing artistic excellence, the project also serves to preserve the legacy of those who have devoted their careers to promoting the genre, ensuring that their stories continue to resonate within the international blues community.

To be eligible for induction into the European Blues Hall of Fame, candidates must either be European or have built a substantial part of their careers in Europe while making a significant contribution to the promotion and development of blues music. Eligible inductees include not only performers and composers but also festivals, record labels, magazines, radio and television broadcasters, promoters, researchers, societies, and associations that have supported the growth of the blues scene.
